System Of A Down Tickets

System of a Down, the grandmasters of alternative metal, are appearing at the Hallenstadion in Zurich on June 8, 2021. Special guests will be the prog formation O.R.k., to whom SOAD’s frontman Serj Tankian lends his voice for the song Black Blooms. Official presales start 10am, Friday October 4 at Ticketmaster.CH.

The band, formed in 1994 by four US Armenians, came to the fore to become an institution celebrated worldwide – not least because of their breath-taking live performances. With their first album System of a Down, the band turned the whole metal scene on its head. Their wild mix of styles consisting of hard riffs, fast beats and Armenian folk tones brings about a unique sound that has become their call sign. Many people try to pigeonhole System of a Down, but Serj Tankian and bassist Odadjian are of the opinion that “we are who we are and first and foremost we make unique music”.

With the release of Toxicity in 2001, SOAD made their breakthrough into the mainstream. In heated times they created a powerful masterpiece with Chop Suey, Toxicity and Aerials. This earned them recognition from fans and critics, high placings in the charts, gold and platinum awards and sold-out tours across the globe. Steal This Album! marked another milestone for them a year later with which they also made a political statement. Their two latest albums Hypnotize and Mezmerize appeared in 2005. Their five studio albums earned the band over 40 million record sales worldwide. The single B.Y.O.B was awarded a Grammy in the Best Hard Rock Performance category in 2006.
