The 25-year-old New Yorker, born Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, was already fascinated as a small girl by musical instruments and has since mastered the clarinet, piano, mandolin, cello and violin. In her childhood and youth Halsey often moved address, experienced bullying and had to come to terms with bipolar disorder. At the age of 17 she finally landed in Brooklyn, New York, and, inspired by her own experiences, began to make music herself. She uploaded her first songs herself onto platforms such as and YouTube in 2012 and with these first successes came greater self-confidence. With her song Ghost, which deals with her ex-boyfriend, Halsey awoke the interest of the platforms, since when her career has soared.

Even before the release of her debut EP Room 93, Halsey supported The Kooks on their massive 2014 tour. Her smash-hit album BADLANDS, released a year later, shot straight to number 2 in the US Billboard Charts and won her platinum status with over 97,000 copies sold.

Joint releases such as Closer with The Chainsmokers and Eastside with Benny Blanco finally made the pop singer a name for herself worldwide. Without Me, released in 2018, became her first number one hit as a solo singer.

Her songs are currently streamed 35 million times a month on Spotify, over 7 million listeners follow her and at number 23 she is one of the most listened-to artists on Spotify.
