About
FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2025 | Infos & Tickets
From June 28 to July 6, 2025, for the first time in its history, Switzerland will host a Basketball World Cup, featuring the 16 best U19 men’s teams from around the globe, competing for the highly coveted world champion title on the court of the Lausanne Arena in Prilly-Lausanne. This tournament is often the stage for the emergence of future NBA stars, and the competition promises to be thrilling!
For this international event, 16 teams from around the world will gather in the Vaud capital. Divided into four groups, each team will play three group-stage matches before being placed either in the upper bracket (Places 1–8) or the lower bracket (Places 9–16). The competition will span nine days, with two rest days after the second and fourth days. Matches will be played in two different venues throughout the tournament. The first venue, which will host the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals, is the Arena. The second competition venue, the Cooly, will also host matches. This unique setup at the Lausanne Arena will offer players and fans an unprecedented experience.
Beyond an international basketball event, this World Cup represents a golden opportunity for the local and national population, as well as for Swiss Basketball. Thus, it’s more than just a basketball event that will take place in July 2025 in the Olympic capital—cultural and social activities will also be organized on the forecourt of the Lausanne Arena.
